Chiropractor, Steve Milligan has worked to help others for over 40 years. As a Board Certified Chiropractic Altas Orthogonalist for the last 12 years, he is one of very few teachers of Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic.

Dr. Milligan's patients come from local and nearby communities to as far away as Hawaii, Hong Kong, Canada, Bolivia and across the United States - all seeking to receive his precision Atlas corrections using a precise vectored chiropractic adjustment based on math, science and art.

"It is my mission and blessing to experience a patient regaining health after many years of suffering, seeing their life force and smile return, after being told they would have to live with their suffering." Dr. Milligan

Dr. Milligan's life has demonstrated high drive to help his fellow man. After graduating from Skyline High School in 1964, he saw duty in two wars with the US Navy, receiving many awards and metals in his five war tours.

After leaving the service, he married, and at 21 his first son, Peter, was born. Four years later his second son, Kasey, arrived. He is now the grandfather to Macee, Isabelle and Lyla.

Dr. Milligan attended Cabrillo College and the University of California at Santa Cruz., Santa Cruz ROP, Life Chiropractic College West, and Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in South Carolina, where he received his board certification.

During his school years, he worked as a Veterinary emergency room nurse, surgical assistant, and radiology technician. He spent many years rehabbing injured wild animals: Raptors, Eagles, Falcons, Hawks and Owls. He also helped start the UCSC Peregrine Falcon breeding program, which was instrumental in the return of this amazing bird.

In a different venue, he was recognized for his artistic talents, gaining recognition as a glass artist, invited to exhibit his art locally and in the Smithsonian Traveling Art Exhibit. He was also recognized as a French Intensive Organic Gardener, specializing in medicinal plants and herbs.

After graduating, he joined the Live Oak Fire Department as a volunteer fire fighter, becoming a paramedic in Santa Cruz County, California, serving for 15 years. He also helped start the first Paramedic/EMZT Labor Union, which has since spread across the country.

Dr. Milligan was an original board member of WorldOver, a disaster response organization, starting to develop "down-building rescue" first used in the Mexico City Earthquake and perfected until the 9/11 twin towers collapse. He was dispatched to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, to assist in developing a Native American Medical Emergency Response System. The average emergency response was reduced from over 2 hours and 20 minutes to 8 minutes on average, with non-governmental Lakota Sioux responding to help their own. He was a board member of "The TENNA Council" a native American Spiritual Council.

After having his life saved by his Chiropractor at 42 years of age, he entered Chiropractic school. He graduated with recognition in 1995, receiving many acknowledgments, including Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, and was nominated for clinical excellence. He has been licensed in New Mexico, Montana and since 1996 in California.

He has also received multiple Who's Who in US Business and Industry recognitions, the "2005 Atlas Orthogonality Humanitarian Award", and Atlas Orthogonal Board Certification #12, from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic, in North Carolina.

Dr. Milligan treats patients from Monday through Thursday in Lafayette and Friday and Saturday in Fall River Mills where he resides with his wife, and sweetheart, Betsy, and their dogs on the Pit River near Mt. Shasta. Betsy is an artist, trains dogs, gardens, loves nature, and manages our slice of heaven on the Pit River.

Dr. Michelle Coleman specializes in Pediatric and Prenatal Chiropractic care and is certified in the Webster Technique used to assist mothers with babies of breech presentation. She is also trained in the Atlas Orthogonal upper cervical technique.

Dr. Coleman grew up locally in the San Ramon Valley. She attended California High School where she was the Captain of the Varsity Song Squad. She learned about what it takes to be successful when she helped lead her team to win the USA National Championships. She was under Chiropractic care at the time she was competing learning that keeping her body in optimal shape was necessary in order to perform at her best!

The next step in her academic career was to study Psychology at California State Polytechnic University. Dr. Michelle attended school full time while also maintaining a part time position as a peer academic counselor at the Cal Poly College of Business. In her spare time she volunteered as a California Certified Domestic Violence Counselor and kept a strict workout schedule occasionally doing 5k and 10k runs. She found that Chiropractic care greatly improved her overall sense of well being and helped her body get in optimal shape for her athletic endeavors.

After graduating from Cal Poly Dr. Michelle accepted a job working for Gap Inc. corporate headquarters. While greatly enjoying her time living in San Francisco and working in the fashion industry she decided to take on a fundraising effort for Team In Training. In 2000 Dr. Michelle raised $3500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and ran in the Honolulu Marathon. During her training for the marathon she suffered in a car accident in which she was rear ended. This was when Dr. Michelle realized how truly important Chiropractic care is especially when you have been injured in a car accident. At this time she decided it was time to move on and that fashion would become her new hobby so she applied for Chiropractic school.

Dr. Michelle graduated in 2005 from Life Chiropractic College West and moved to the Seattle area to work as a Pediatric specialist. Dr. Michelle also became Axiom certified while assisting chronic low back pain patients with treatment on the DRX 9000. She spent hours of reading Digital Motion X-Ray or "DMX" studies and MRI's which has thus enabled her to assist patients in avoiding invasive treatments for low back problems. She also assisted in the Rehabilitation and Exercise department of the clinic. She learned how to help patients restore proper structure and function to the body through postural rehabilitative exercises. Dr. Michelle learned many valuable lessons from the practice she worked in as an associate doctor in Washington and was the ready to apply it to her own practice. After missing the California sunshine, her family and the Bay Area, Dr. Michelle decided to move home and is happy to be practicing here doing what she loves everyday, helping people get healthier.

Dr. Coleman maintains a practice out of two convenient locations: in San Ramon and at the Milligan Clinic in Lafayette. You can visit her website at www.redefineyourspine.net
